The Post Montecito

Commercial

MGMT Partners is proud to have acted as the Owner Representative, Development Manager, and Project Manager for the transformation of the Las Aves complex into The Post, Montecito's premier shopping destination. The project reimagines a prime location across from the Andrée Clark Bird Refuge, creating a sophisticated and community-focused retail center that will serve as a true asset to both Montecito and Santa Barbara.

Designed with a meticulous eye for detail, The Post will feature a curated blend of two full-service restaurants and two smaller food-and-beverage outlets, offering a range of dining experiences that reflect the region’s culinary vibrancy. The development shifts away from the services currently offered by Las Aves, focusing instead on creating an elevated retail environment with a diverse array of merchants. Retail offerings will primarily focus on apparel, with a mix of high-end, boutique, and locally inspired retailers tailored to the unique needs of the Santa Barbara and Montecito communities.

The architectural vision behind The Post embraces a modern yet warm design that harmonizes with its natural surroundings, creating a welcoming space that encourages both exploration and relaxation. The development’s careful attention to detail is underscored by its thoughtful integration into the landscape, preserving the unique character of the area while establishing a fresh, sophisticated identity.

As the Owner Representative and Project Manager, MGMT Partners’ team has been dedicated to overseeing every aspect of the development, from inception to completion. Our role included ensuring that the design and execution adhered to the highest standards, delivering a space that fosters community engagement, enriches the local economy, and elevates the shopping experience in Montecito. Through our leadership and expertise, The Post will undoubtedly become a celebrated destination for both locals and visitors alike.

When we first saw the property, we were struck by the incredible landscaping, the character of the buildings, and that beautiful courtyard. We like the idea of people ‘posting up’ there — a community gathering space, a place to grab a coffee or hang out with their kids.
